Chhunda is a classic Gujarati sweet and sour pickle that is made with raw mangoes. The raw mangoes are grated and combined with Sugar, Salt, Red Chilli & turmeric Powder to make this ever delicious Gujarati Chunda pickle.
This traditional preparation is time consuming since the heat of the sun is used over several days to dissolve the sugar, till the pickle reaches a clear syrupy consistency and the mango shreds are translucent.
Aam ka Chhunda is mainly served with plain paranthas, puris, theplas, chilla and rotis.
